River Stour - Sudbury to Bures

Following on from my Sudbury to the sea trip recently, we would like to invite members to a shorter trip, covering part of that journey.

We'll start at Sudbury (location TBC) at 9:30 to run a shuttle, after which we'll paddle the River Stour down to Bures with a stop for lunch.

Please dress appropriately for the weather as it can be much cooler in October.

Bring a packed lunch and snacks and a drink.

This is a club trip open to all active members. If you are interested, please register your interest here, via the website or the club email.

Once we have an idea of who is going and what boats we need, we will organise transport. We may not be able to take all boats, so register quickly to avoid disappointment.

Those wishing to borrow boats/club kit, there will be a £5 charge for the trip per boat.

Please confirm your attendance by Sunday 6th October so we have time to organise everything.

Spooky Doo paddle

Our annual Halloween paddle... at night! Come along for a thrilling paddle after the sun goes down and the ghosts come out.

We'll paddle from the farm up towards the weir, but keep an eye out for anything spooky in your surroundings!!

Suitable for all and a great fun evening. Please bring spooky additions to adorn your boats (glowsticks are great), but no torches on the water as they just dazzle everyone else.

Novice/inexperienced paddlers will need to be in open boats with a more experienced paddler.

This is a FREE event for all current members. No need to book - just turn up with your BBQ food ready to paddle.

We will provide the BBQs, so bring your food/rolls/salad/etc. to cook after the paddle.

Mince Pie Paddle

We're holding our post-Christmas paddle on the Saturday after Christmas. Meet at the farm at 10 am. We'll probably be going up to the bridge and back. (Mince pies are optional!)

There's no charge for using club boats and other equipment for this event.
